Station Management & DJ Control

brūhi Cloud allows administrators and DJs to manage multiple radio stations seamlessly from a unified web interface. This guide covers station configuration, DJ studio session locking, and automated playout fallback.

Multi-Station Workspace

From the station selection dashboard, administrators can create, configure, and monitor independent radio stations. Each station operates as a standalone broadcast instance with its own:

Station Stream Mountpoint: Dedicated audio stream (e.g., /station-1.mp3).
Media Library & Playlists: Independent track library, regular playlists, and smart rules.
Schedule & Clock Rules: Time-based playlist switching and show scheduling.
Live Broadcast Harbor: Dedicated port for external encoder connections or browser microphone streams.

Source Priority & Automatic Fallback

brūhi Cloud maintains continuous broadcast uptime through an automated priority-based fallback chain:

Priority 1: Live WebRTC Stream (DJ browser microphone input)
Priority 2: Live Harbor Stream (External hardware / software encoder input)
Priority 3: Scheduled Playlist (Auto-playout queue managed by schedule clock)
Priority 4: Silence Generator (Protects Icecast stream connections from dropping)

When a live DJ finishes a show or disconnects, the station automatically transitions back to the scheduled playlist within ~40 milliseconds without dropping stream listeners.

Studio Session Control Locking

To prevent conflicting actions when multiple DJs or station operators log into the same station simultaneously:

Take Control: Clicking Take Control or Go Live claims active DJ session status for that station.
Session Locking: Connected operators receive instant visual feedback indicating that a live session is active.
Safe Handoff: When a show ends, the active DJ clicks Release Control to make the station available for the next DJ or return it to automated playout.
Read-Only Mode: Other users viewing the station during an active show remain in preview mode to prevent accidental track stops or volume cuts.

Streaming Output Modes

brūhi Cloud supports flexible stream output configurations:

Bundled Icecast Server (`bundled`)

Automatically managed within your Docker deployment.
Streams are instantly available on host port 8010 (e.g., http://your-server-ip:8010/station-1.mp3).
Automatic mountpoint generation for each newly created station.

External Streaming Servers (`external`)

Connect brūhi Cloud to external Icecast 2, Shoutcast, or third-party CDN streaming providers.
Configure target server hostname, port, mountpoint, and source password directly in Station Settings → Stream Outputs.

Station Dashboard Controls

Within a station workspace, operators can:

Live VU Meters: Monitor real-time Master and Microphone audio peak levels.
Deck Control: Pause, skip, or force segues between scheduled items.
Cart Wall: Trigger instant sound effects, jingles, and station IDs.
Now Playing Metadata: Manually override live track titles or send custom broadcast messages.
